International branding agency

One brand, wherever you trade.

RedFox Branding is an international branding agency with offices in Liverpool, Sandton and Pennsylvania. Every market you trade in sees the same brand.

The idea

What is an international branding agency?

An international branding agency designs one brand that has to work in more than one country. The logo and colours stay the same everywhere, but the detail changes: the currency on the price list, the paper size of the brochure and the word a buyer types when looking for you.

That detail is where brands crack when they cross a border. So we plan for it from the start, and a tender profile for Johannesburg and a capability statement for a US buyer still look as if they came from the same organisation.

Offices

Offices in Liverpool, Sandton and Pennsylvania

Each office looks after projects for its own country, and all three share one team and one set of standards. As an international branding agency, we quote every project in the currency of the market it serves.

Three markets

How the work changes from one market to the next

The brand itself stays fixed. These are the details an international branding agency has to get right in each country.

Why one agency

Why choose one international branding agency over three local ones?

Hiring a separate designer in each country feels local, but in practice it gives you three versions of your brand. An international branding agency exists to stop that happening.

  • One brand

    The same in every market

One set of rules and files, so a visitor from Liverpool and one from Sandton meet the same organisation.

  • One quote

    Priced in one place

Work for several countries can sit on one written quote, in the currency your finance team prefers.

  • Local words

    Written the way buyers search

A tender profile in South Africa, a capability statement in the US and a company brochure in the UK.

  • Your files

Owned by you in every country

Each printer or developer you hire, in whichever country, works from the same source files, and those files are yours.

The process

How does a project across several countries run?

Much like any other project, except that the country details are settled at the very beginning, before design starts.

  1. Tell us where you trade

List the countries the brand has to work in, and which one matters most. That decides the paper sizes, the currencies and the words we use.

  2. Agree one fixed quote

You receive a single written quote, in the currency you choose, covering every market in scope.

  3. Design once, then adapt

The core identity comes first. After that, each document, page and template is set up for the market it serves.

  4. Launch market by market, or all at once

Websites go live once you have checked them on a private preview link, and print files go to the printers you choose in each country.

The three cities

Liverpool, Sandton and Pennsylvania at a glance

Each office sits in a very different economy, which helps when a brand has to speak to more than one:

  • Liverpool is a port city on the Mersey, with a creative and digital quarter in the Baltic Triangle.
  • Sandton, in the north of Johannesburg, is one of South Africa’s main financial districts and home to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
  • Pennsylvania mixes manufacturing, healthcare, education and energy across a large and varied state.
  • Clients outside all three countries work with whichever office suits their time zone and currency.

That spread is what makes us an international branding agency.

Questions

Questions about working with an international branding agency

Question not here? Send it to us and we will answer it directly.

Ask a question

How do I contact the right office?

Send the project form or email hello@redfoxbranding.com, and say which country you are in. The enquiry goes to the office that handles your market, and the quote comes back in that country’s currency. You never have to work out which office to write to yourself.

Can an organisation in one country work with another office?

Yes. The offices divide the work by market, not by strict rule. A UK company opening in South Africa might want its South African profile and website handled with that market in mind, while its UK print stays as it is. We plan the split with you and quote it as one project.

What does an international branding agency do differently?

It plans for several markets at once. A local studio designs for the place it knows, so the brand often needs reworking when you expand. An international branding agency sets up the files, sizes, currencies and wording for each market from the start, so growing abroad does not mean starting again.

Which time zones do you work across?

Our offices span UK time, South African Standard Time and US Eastern Time. South Africa is one or two hours ahead of the UK, depending on the season, and Pennsylvania is usually five hours behind the UK. Calls are arranged for a time that suits you, whichever zone you are in.

Which paper size will our documents use?

Yes. The UK and South Africa use A4, while the USA uses US Letter, which is slightly wider and shorter. Profiles, letterheads and brochures are set up in the size your market prints on, and organisations that work in both can have both. Converting one to the other afterwards rarely works without reworking every page.

Do buyers in each country use the same words?

No, and it matters for search. South African buyers ask for a company profile, often for a tender. UK buyers more often look for a company brochure or bid documents, and US government buyers ask for a capability statement. We use the term each market uses, on the page and in the headings search engines read.

Should my website use a country domain or a .com?

Use a country domain, such as .co.uk or .co.za, if you sell mainly in one country, because it tells visitors and search engines where you trade. A .com suits organisations selling across borders. Whichever you choose, it is registered in your name, and some organisations keep both and point one at the other.

Is the standard the same from every office?

Yes, because it is the same work. Every project goes through the same design process and the same checks, whichever office quotes it. Where you are changes the currency, the paper size and the words buyers use. It never changes the standard of what you receive.

Can you launch a brand in several countries at once?

Yes. Plan the launch as one project and every market’s material is designed from the same files, so the websites, print and presentations can go out together. Tell us the launch date early, because printers in different countries work to different lead times and the files need to reach each one in good time.

Is an international branding agency more expensive than a local studio?

Not by default, because price follows scope rather than geography. An international project costs more only when there is more to make, such as documents in two paper sizes or a website serving two countries. The quote lists those extras line by line, so you can decide which markets to include now and which to add later.

Prefer to start with one market?

Plenty of organisations begin at home and expand later. Read the page for Liverpool, Sandton or Pennsylvania, start with the market you know best and add the others when the time comes. The brand will be ready for them.
