Send a spreadsheet of names, roles, numbers and email addresses. We set every card from it and check each one against your list, so a misspelt name never reaches the printer. When someone joins later, their card comes from the same file in the same style.

Sizes
Business card sizes by country
Card sizes differ from country to country, so we set yours up for the market where it will be printed and handed out.
| Where | Standard size | Bleed |
|---|---|---|
| UK and most of Europe | 85 × 55 mm | 3 mm |
| USA and Canada | 3.5 × 2 in (88.9 × 50.8 mm) | 0.125 in |
| South Africa | 90 × 50 mm | 3 mm |
| Square cards | 55 × 55 mm or 65 × 65 mm | 3 mm |
Text and logos sit at least 3 mm inside the trim, or 0.125 in for US printers, so nothing is cut off.

Stocks and finishes
Which finishes are worth paying for?
A heavy stock does more than any effect. At 400 gsm or more (roughly 16 pt in the US), a card feels deliberate in the hand. After that, choose one finish and let it work:
- soft-touch lamination for a velvety, matt surface
- spot UV to make a logo or pattern shine against matt
- foil in gold, silver, copper or a colour
- duplexing, two sheets bonded with a coloured core showing at the edge
- letterpress on thick cotton board, for print you can feel
Stacking every effect on one card usually looks busy. We recommend the one that suits your brand and your budget.

Questions
Questions about business card design
Question not here? Send it to us and we will answer it directly.
Ask a questionWhat should go on a business card?
Your name, role, phone number, email address and website, plus your logo. A street address only earns its place if people visit you. Leave off anything likely to change before the box runs out, and use the back for a short line, a QR code or simply the logo in colour.
What changes the cost of business card design?
The number of people and versions matters more than the card itself. One design for one person is the simplest job; a team set with several roles, offices or languages takes longer to set up and check. Special finishes add set-up time too, because each one needs its own artwork file.
Can you design cards around our existing logo?
Yes, and that is the usual starting point. We take your logo’s colours and type and build the card around them. If the logo only exists as a small JPEG, we tell you before anything is printed, because it will look soft on a card, and we can redraw it as clean vector artwork.
Do we still need printed cards if we have a digital one?
Most people still find them useful. A printed card works without signal, battery or an app, and it stays on a desk after the meeting ends. A QR code on the back gives you both: paper for the handshake and a digital contact that saves straight to the other person’s phone.
