Landing page design

One page. One job.

Landing page design gives one campaign one page: a single message, a single action and nothing that leads the visitor anywhere else.

What it is

What is a landing page for?

A landing page is the page an advert, an email or a QR code sends people to. It has one job: to get the visitor to do the one thing the campaign is about, such as asking for a quote, booking a place or downloading a guide. There is no main menu to wander off into and no second offer competing for attention.

Your home page has to serve everyone. A landing page serves the person who clicked one advert and repeats the promise they clicked on. Google’s landing page experience rating scores ads partly on how well the page matches the advert, so the match affects what you pay per click as well. If a page you already have is underperforming, a website audit finds out why before anything is redesigned.

Kinds

Which kind of landing page do you need?

  • Lead

    Lead capture

A quote, a callback or a consultation: the offer, the proof you can show and a short form that goes to the right inbox.

  • Launch

    Launch or event

A product launch, a webinar or an open day: the date, what happens, who it’s for and a register button that works on a phone.

  • Guide

    Download

A guide, a price list or a checklist in exchange for an email address, with the file delivered automatically.

  • Click

    Click-through

A warm-up page for a product or a booking: the case made plainly before the visitor reaches the shop or the calendar.

Included

What comes with a landing page

  • Copy written to the advertThe headline repeats the promise of the advert, so nobody wonders if they clicked the wrong link.
  • A form that reaches the right personAs few fields as the job allows, spam protection and a thank-you page that confirms the enquiry.
  • Conversion trackingEvents set up for Google Ads, Meta ads and your analytics, so you can see which adverts produced enquiries.
  • Speed on a phoneMost ad clicks are on phones over mobile data, so the page is light, with compressed images and no spare scripts.
  • Hosting on your domainThe page lives at an address like yourdomain.com/offer, on your hosting, and the files are yours.

Questions

Questions about landing page design

Question not here? Send it to us and we will answer it directly.

Ask a question

How do we start a landing page design?

Send a brief through the project form or email hello@redfoxbranding.com with the advert or offer the page is for. We’ll ask what action counts as a result, where the enquiries should go and when the campaign starts. You get a fixed quote in GBP, USD or ZAR before anything is designed.

Do we need a separate landing page for every advert?

Not for every advert, but for every distinct offer or audience. A plumber running one ad group for boiler repairs and another for bathroom fitting needs two pages, because each visitor expects the page to carry on from the advert they clicked. Pages that share one layout and differ in headline, image and form are quick to produce once the first is approved, as the twenty town pages we built for EB Fuels show.

How do we know whether the landing page is working?

By its conversion rate: the share of visitors who did the thing the page asked. We set up conversion tracking in Google Ads, Meta’s ads manager or your analytics tool before launch, and the thank-you page records each enquiry. Once enough visits have arrived you can compare two headlines or images and keep the one that converts better.

Will you write the copy as well?

Yes. Landing page copy is short and has to carry the advert’s promise straight through to the button, so we write it from your brief and the advert itself. You supply the facts: the offer, the proof you’re allowed to show and any terms. If you prefer to write it yourself, we edit it to fit the layout.

Running the ads too?

A landing page only works when the clicks arrive. Our Google Ads management and paid social advertising services run the campaigns that feed it, with the same team writing the advert and the page so the two always agree. Or look through our work to see how we design the rest of a site.

Tell us what you’re promoting, where the clicks will come from and what counts as a result: a call, a form, a booking or a download. Send the advert copy if it exists. You’ll get a fixed price and a launch plan, and that is the first step of every landing page design.
