Gift voucher design

A gift that brings them back.

Good gift voucher design makes a voucher feel worth giving and easy to redeem. We design printed vouchers, plastic gift cards and e-vouchers.

What works

What makes a gift voucher worth buying?

A voucher is a present someone has chosen to give, so it has to look like one. The front carries your name, the value and a design that feels like a gift rather than a receipt. The back does the quiet work: the serial number, the expiry date, how to redeem it and the terms in plain words.

We design the carrier too. A voucher in a printed sleeve feels like a gift; one pushed across the counter on its own doesn’t. Online, the e-voucher arrives as a PDF the giver can forward or print. It is one of the smaller jobs in our print design service, and one of the most used.

Formats

Which voucher format suits you?

Printed vouchers suit counters and gift sleeves, plastic cards suit tills with scanners, and e-vouchers suit online shops and last-minute buyers.

Questions

Questions about gift voucher design

Question not here? Send it to us and we will answer it directly.

Ask a question

How do we get a gift voucher designed?

Email hello@redfoxbranding.com or fill in the project form with the values you sell, where the vouchers change hands and how they are redeemed. We send a fixed quote in GBP, USD or ZAR, design the front and back, show you proofs and supply the files for your printer or your online shop.

Should the voucher have an expiry date?

That depends on where you trade. In the USA the CARD Act sets a minimum life for gift cards, South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act sets its own, and UK terms must be fair to the buyer. We are designers, not lawyers, so we lay out the expiry and terms your adviser gives us.

Can the voucher be sold online as well as in the shop?

Yes. We supply an e-voucher the buyer receives by email as a PDF, with the same design as the printed one and a single-use code your shop marks as redeemed. We built Beacon Lighting’s online shop, so we know what a checkout needs from a voucher code.

What do you need from us?

Your logo and brand colours, the values you want to offer, the terms and expiry wording, how a voucher is redeemed and any template from your printer or till supplier. If you have brand guidelines, send them; if not, we work from your website and business cards.

Starting a loyalty scheme too?

A gift voucher and a loyalty card from the same hand look like one business, not two. We design them together, so the stamp card, the voucher and the sleeve share a grid and a palette, and you brief us once. Our loyalty card design page has the sizes and the options.

Get a quote for gift voucher design

Tell us what you sell, the values you want to offer, where the vouchers change hands and how they are redeemed. If your printer has a template or your till reads barcodes, send those too. You get a fixed price and a list of the files you will receive. That is the whole brief for gift voucher design.
