Invoices, quotations and contracts usually go out on the same headed paper. Our letterhead and stationery design give the forms a shared header and footer, so your registered details, bank details and tax numbers sit in one place and change in one place.
Invoice design
Paperwork that looks like one company.
Invoice design is the last impression a client gets, and the one finance remembers. We design invoices and every business form around them, in your brand.

Invoices and receipts
What should an invoice and a receipt show?
An invoice needs the word “Invoice”, a unique number, the date, your legal name and address, the client’s, each item with its quantity and price, the subtotal, tax and total, the due date and how to pay. UK, South African and US tax invoices each add their own lines, and your accountant confirms which apply.
A receipt is the same form after payment: what was paid, when and how, with the number of the invoice it settles. We design both to match, plus the statement that chases slow payers. A free invoice template carries someone else’s look; these carry yours.
Orders and deliveries
Purchase orders and delivery notes
Forms that travel with goods or authorise a spend work in pairs, and each should quote the other’s number.
| Form | Who issues it | What it carries |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase order | The buyer | PO number, supplier, items, agreed prices, delivery address and date, a signature |
| Delivery note | The supplier, with the goods | The PO number, items and quantities delivered, a space to sign |
| Goods received note | The buyer’s stores | What arrived against the order, with shortages or damage noted |
| Credit note | The supplier | The invoice it corrects, the amount credited and the reason |
| Remittance advice | The buyer, with payment | Which invoices the payment covers |
Numbered two- or three-part pads (NCR sets) are still common on sites and in stores, and we supply the printer’s artwork for those too.
Price lists
Price list design
A price list is a sales document, so it is designed to be read, compared and kept.
Sheet
A single-page price list
For services and short ranges. A4 or US Letter, with the terms in the footer.
Booklet
A catalogue-style list
Products grouped the way customers shop, with codes, sizes and photographs where they help.
Screen
A PDF or web page
For prices that change often: updated by you and sent as a link.
Board
A wall or counter list
Salons, workshops and takeaways, sized for the wall and matched to your menus or signs.
Contracts
Contracts and agreement templates
Terms of business, service agreements, engagement letters and supply contracts all benefit from the treatment a lawyer rarely gives them: a clear hierarchy of headings, numbered clauses that cross-refer correctly, readable type and a signature page with room to sign.
The wording comes from you and is checked by your lawyer. We don’t draft legal terms or give legal advice. We lay out the approved text as a contract template in Word or Google Docs, with locked styles, so every agreement you send looks like the same firm wrote it.
Spreadsheets
Spreadsheet design and trackers
Spreadsheets are documents too. A tracker that is a pleasure to open gets filled in.
- Budgets and cash-flow trackersMonthly columns, locked formulas and a summary tab a director can read in a minute.
- Quote and invoice workbooksA sheet per job that totals, applies tax and prints as a branded invoice.
- Project and job trackersStatus, owner, dates and cost against budget, with conditional colours that mean something.
- Stock and price sheetsCodes, costs, margins and selling prices on one sheet, feeding the price list.
- Excel templates or Google SheetsBuilt in whichever your team uses, with a short note on what each tab does.

Questions
Questions about invoice design
Question not here? Send it to us and we will answer it directly.
Ask a questionHow do we get started?
Email hello@redfoxbranding.com or send a current invoice through the project form, with any other forms you use. We reply with a fixed quote that lists each form separately, so you can start with the invoice and add the rest later. Send your logo and brand colours too; if you have none yet, see brand identity first.
What must a UK or South African tax invoice include?
The tax authorities set the list. HMRC’s guidance on what an invoice must include covers the UK VAT invoice, and SARS sets the requirements for a South African tax invoice, including the words “Tax Invoice” and both VAT numbers. We build the fields into the template; your accountant confirms your details.
Do you print the forms as well?
No, we supply the artwork and you choose the printer. For invoice books, delivery pads and receipt books, we set the artwork up for NCR sets with sequential numbering and tell the printer where the numbers go. Most forms never reach paper now: they are PDFs made from the Word or Excel template and emailed, and if your accounting software generates the invoice, we supply the logo, colours and layout settings for it.
What affects the cost of invoice design?
The number of forms and the format. One invoice in Word is the simplest job; a set of eight matching forms, a calculating Excel workbook and a contract template with locked styles takes longer. Each form is priced on its own in the quote, and forms that share a layout, such as the quotation, invoice and receipt, are quicker together than apart.
