A calendar is often the centrepiece of a year-end gift, beside branded merchandise, a greetings card and a postcard with a January offer. We design the set together, so the box arrives looking like one gift from one firm. The print design page lists everything else we make.

Sizes
Calendar sizes and stock
Wall calendars hang, so the pages need enough weight not to curl: 170 gsm silk is the usual floor, with a 300 gsm cover. Binding is a stapled spine with a drilled hanging hole, or Wire-O with a wire hanger. Desk calendars take a thumb cut so the pages turn easily.

Dates
Which dates go in?
The right ones for the reader’s country, which is where most calendars go wrong. Bank holidays in the UK differ between England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland; South Africa’s public holidays move to the Monday when they fall on a Sunday; US federal holidays are a different list again. We take them from the official sources, GOV.UK and the South African government among them.
Then the smaller choices: weeks starting on Monday (UK and South Africa) or Sunday (USA), ISO week numbers, school terms, moon phases, religious festivals and your own dates, from a trade show to the year-end shutdown. You tell us which. We check every one against its source.

Questions
Questions about calendar design
Question not here? Send it to us and we will answer it directly.
Ask a questionHow do we get a calendar designed?
Email hello@redfoxbranding.com or use the project form with the format, the countries your customers are in and a note on the photos you have. We send a fixed quote in GBP, USD or ZAR. Start early: a calendar has to be designed, approved, printed and delivered before the year begins, and printers are busiest in its final months.
What pictures should we use?
Your own, if they are good: finished projects, products, your team at work, the places you serve. They say more about you than stock does. The photos must be sharp at print size, which for an A3 wall calendar means the full-resolution original from the camera, not a copy saved from social media. If you have none, we source licensed images to a theme you choose.
Can the calendar include our own dates and offers?
Yes. Trade shows, sale periods, order cut-offs before holidays, shutdown dates and a monthly tip or offer all fit in the grid or beside it. A QR code on each month can point to a page you change through the year. Sponsored slots for partners, or for a charity’s supporters, work the same way and can help pay for the print.
Will the holidays be right for every country?
Yes, for the countries you tell us. UK bank holidays, South African public holidays and US federal holidays are each taken from the government’s own list for that year, and we show you a dated proof to confirm. If you sell into several countries, we print one version per country or a single grid that marks only the dates common to all.
